[He's barely been in the room for a couple of seconds before he finds himself slamming against the wall.]
What the hell?! [It's confused, shocked, angry, and by the time the words have left his mouth he's already struggling to push Naruto away, hands trying to pull away the arm at his neck]
Get off me. [He's pissed and considering just punching Naruto straight in the face, but the stuggling soon makes him aware of the sensation of something cold and sharp pressing against him. Metal? A weapon? He doesn't understand what is going on, or what he's done to provoke it.]
[The outburst, he expected, and the struggle that goes along with it - but he's not going to give up. Sasuke's strong enough to be able to break free from this if he tries hard enough, and that means he's going to have to make this quick.
Not instant though. The opportunity to run his kunai over Sasuke's throat and kill him right here and now has been open to him from the moment he pressed that blade to his 'friend's' skin, whatever holds him back isn't uncertainty or nerves - quite the opposite.
Despite the incredibly uncharacteristic desire to kill his best friend, the bond between them is still strong - only that seems to make it more of a thrill to keep the Uchiha guessing.
Adrenaline helps him keep Sasuke pressed up against the wall, with a hip pressed against him to force Sasuke's lower body forward, his hand however, gently pushes up to expose more of his neck.]
You're gonna die. Right here.
apparently when i replied to this on saturday i never pressed enter....
[Shit. The blade pressing into him eans he can't move recklessly, but this is a bad situation to be in. As he continues to strugle his mind is racing, going over what the hell could have possible triggered this, anything that he can use and to dispel the sitation or more likely, give him enough of a break to reach for his own weapon.
Then it suddenly hits him- the talk of people being possessed. He'd made that comment about Karin just days ago when he was pissed off with her. Was that it?]
I'm not the one that's going to die.
[It was the only thing that made any amount of sense, Naruto wouldn't just try to kill him, not like this. And if it's true, that means he is nothing more than an enemy right now. ]
What makes you think I am?
[He's talking, but as he does so his hand is moving, reaching back for the hilt of his sword.]
[They've fought a countless number of times, but it's never been like this. He's thriving on the adrenaline, mostly because weeks without sleep should have taken their toll on him, and in some ways it has - but he still had the energy borne of some twisted obsession with following Thiazi's will.
Sasuke's retort falls on deaf ears, mostly because in his heart - Naruto has the strongest feeling that Sasuke is wrong about all this.]
D'ya think I'm stupid?
[It's tricky, but he's right behind Sasuke and in just the right position to shove himself more firmly against him, not only forcing his 'friend' harder against the wall, but also restricting any movement of those arms.]
I said you were gonna die, y'know I never give up right?
[Which is when he tips that kunai, just enough to slice Sasuke's skin just beneath his jaw. It isn't enough to claim his life, but plenty to make sure Sasuke knows he's serious.]
[He had a retort for that, but the blade finally peircing his skin shifted his focus. Now was not a time for talking, he had to do something about his life being threatened.
There are no words, only a hiss under his breath caused by the sting of skin breaking as he throws his head back, aiming a blow to Naruto's face as he struggles to get hands free and claim that kunai.
[He knows that he's about to have a fight on his hands from the moment Sasuke hisses, aware of the fact that he had definitely broken the skin, and that he needed to step up his game instantly.
Not that he has any intention of letting there be much time for a scuffle. He'd had the advantage from the moment he'd pinned his friend to the wall, and perhaps should have seen the quick movement of Sasuke's head before it happened.]
Aassshit!
[The pain that exploded across his forehead was instant, and was definitely enough for him to be compromised, if only for a moment.]
[He's waiting no time, nt checking to see if he's done any kind of damage or anything, taking the moment to go for the kunai in Naruto's hand and attempt to grab hold of it.]
[Suddenly all he can feel is the sharp stinging sensation, as the weapon slices through his skin. Eyes go wide as he stills, the shock of actually being cut not yet catching up to him as blood begins seeping out. It's already running down his arm, spraying over wall and clothing, dropping to the floor.
He reaches for the injury with his other hand, wrapping fingers around the wrist in an attempt to slow down the bleeding, but it is not working. He's pushing back at Naruto again but this time as a means to break free and get out of here as opposed to fighting back.
That's when he remembers- the body control. Focusing everything on that, he tries to force Naruto to back away, but something is wrong. He's never had problems doing it before, even tried it once or twice where Naruto hadn't even noticed but this time he seems resistant to it; it's a struggle to even get him to move one foot back.]
[The knowledge that his 'attack' was successful comes when he feels Sasuke freeze against him, which is moments before he reaches down with one of his hands, grinning at the feel of hot, sticky blood that can only belong to Sasuke.
It's the only time he actually chooses to let Sasuke 'win', but both arms uncurl easily from Sasuke, slipping away from him to give enough space to step back too.
Not that he stops there, whatever Sasuke is trying to do it doesn't work - of course not. It's not just the fact that his friend is weak, but there's a higher force at work here that neither of them have control over.
He wanted to see though, which is why with his bloodied hand, he reaches out again, grabbing Sasuke by the shoulder to pull him away from the wall, and shove his back against it instead.]
[The noise that comes from him this tim is more like a snarl as his back hits the wall. These useless powers are doing nothing, if he had his chakra one of this would be a problem.]
[His useable hand reaches up to grab Naruto's, pulling at it to get the blond off him but it's no use. He was always the weaker of the two, physically, and with one hand currently unusable, plus the distraction of watching blood seeping out everywhere, the fight was lost before it even began. Instead, he settles for kneeing him in the stomach, sending a kick out right after.]
[It amuses him, in this state, to hear those kinds of sounds from Sasuke. Knowing that he's inflicting pain feels like enough to satisfy the things he was supposed to be doing for Thiazi, but there is something much more important that he needs to accomplish here.
Unfortunately, he knee in his stomach puts a damper on that notion for a moment - but it's brief. He still has enough wits about him to jump back before he's kicked too hard.
He's stronger than Sasuke, and he knows it, which is why he's not too worried about whatever attacks might come next, but if he stands his ground he might just get to see Sasuke bleed to death.]
You need a l'il somethin' else t'take you out or are y'done?
No. No, he's not. He isn't dying. Not here, in this stupid place, and not because of Naruto.
He doesn't answer, again. Instead he reaches for his sword once more, hellbent on slicing through the other ninja if he needs to. no, in fact, he may try to do it anyway because he's pissed as well as being confused and pushed into a corner.]
[It's funny-- because he knows the truth. Sasuke is so very done, and his pathetic attempts to make it stop are feeble and pointless and everything Sasuke would hate to be.
Yet here he is.
Smirking, he takes a few steps closer, reaching forward to grab that hand as it makes a move toward the sword, shoving him back against the wall whilst he leans in closer, but not enough that he would get any of that blood on him.
The kunai's back, but used merely as a tool for pointing with. He doesn't think Sasuke would have the strength to do any damage any more.]
[He tries to struggle against it, but there is no strength left. He almost slips as he tries to move again because of the pooling blood on the floor- he's lost a lot already and he's weak. Cold. Doomed.
Another push, but there's nothing to back it up. He's lost this fight and he knows it.]
[The struggle makes this all that much more enjoyable. The evidence is there, in that look in his eyes, but he's not done - apparently.
Hearing Sasuke finally say something is a reward, and for that, he backs off. Sasuke is about to die, so he feels no need to do any more damage. Instead, he curls his fingers into the fabric of his shirt, helping to hold his friend up whilst he talks at him.]
[His energy is draining away as is the blood and life along with it. There's still a little struggling but there is no real force behind it.
Those words make him clench his teeth though. Is he scared? Perhaps, a little. Not that he would ever, ever admit that though, especially not here, to this person.
The dead come back here. If he dies, he will come back. If he doesn't, then he should get to go home. That's what he wanted, right? He shouldn't be afraid of this.
He can come back and find Naruto and pay him back for all of this so no, he isn't scared, not now.]
You're the one who should be scared, you think I'm going to let this slide with no consequences?
I'll have killed you, and this whole City is goin' up in flames.
There's nothin' you could do to stop it now, and you won't be able to next time either.
[He's not sure what he's counting. Sasuke might come back, he guesses that's the rule here so he very likely will but what he'll come back to, Naruto doesn't know. None of them know really. The one-track thinking isn't helping him to process any idea of the aftermath of this, but then even if he could give it thought in his current state it really doesn't matter.]
[He has a response to that, but the words never come. Too much blood lost, that faint feeling finally takes over him.
Arms fall to his sides as he begins to slide down the wall, no longer able to stand as he loses consciousness. Seconds pass, and even his breathing comes to a halt.]
